Move over all of you $100k Super-High-Roller tournaments. Make room $250k Super-Duper-High-Roller tournament from the Aussie Millions. There is a new sheriff in town when it comes to ultra-high-stakes poker tournaments, and it’s not a rehashing of Full Tilt Poker’s defunct Onyx Cup either.

The latest tournament that will push the envelope in terms of what is a rational amount of money to risk in a poker game is the BIG ONE for ONE DROP tournament that was announced by the World Series of Poker on Thursday. The tournament will take place at next year’s –2012—WSOP and will feature a jaw-dropping $1 million buy-in! Amazingly there are already nine confirmed entries for the tournament, and the WSOP has announced that if 22 or more players register than it will become an official bracelet event, awarding the winner with the first-ever Platinum WSOP Bracelet.

Part of the prize-pool will go towards the ONE DROP charity, which was created by Cirque de Soleil founder, and high-stakes poker whale, Guy Laliberte. The ONE DROP charity’s mission is to provide access to clean drinking water around the globe, and the foundation will benefit greatly from not only the 11.11% of the total prize-pool it will receive from the tournament, but also from the exposure the event will bring –not to mention the likelihood of fund-raising drives during the event.

Here is a look at the nine people who have already reserved their spot in the tournament:

•    Guy Laliberte
•    Andy Beal
•    Phil Ruffin
•    Bobby Baldwin
•    Doyle Brunson
•    Patrik Antonius
•    Gus Hansen
•    Antanas “Tony G” Guoga
