For the first time in the history of the European Poker Tour (EPT) the final table of the Grand Finale that will take place next month in Madrid, Spain will be broadcast live –on a 2-hour delay—streamed at the pokerstars.tv website as well as being aired on several stations around the world.

The live coverage will begin on May 12th, which is slated to be the final table, and will feature commentary in a number of different languages including English, Spanish, Dutch, German, Italian and Russian. Once play reaches four-handed at the final table the coverage will kick-up another notch with a number of networks taking the event live in countries ranging from Spain, Holland, Romania, Slovenia and Germany, in addition to the pokerstars.tv stream.

In a quote attributed to him on CardPlayer.com, Alfredo Alvarez Jardón, Marketing Director of the Casino Gran Madrid said, “We are pleased to be part of this major step forward in poker broadcasting in Europe. It’s significant in that it means many people will be able to watch the action from so many countries, further positioning the Casino Gran Madrid as one of the leading centres of poker in Europe,”

The EPT will also be streaming coverage from the recently announced Champion of Champions tournament that will see over 40 past winners on the EPT tour square off in a freeroll tournament with four EPT Passports on the line.
