How to Play Deuces, Jacks and the Man with the Ax

Deuces, Jacks and the Man with the Ax has all of the same rules as 5 Card Draw. Players are required to provide their ante before the game begins. The ante is a small bet that is placed in the pot. Beginning with the player to the dealer's left, each player is given five cards that are face down. Players can look at the cards they were dealt once they have been given all five. A round of betting begins after all players have looked at their cards. The betting round begins with the player to the left of the dealer.

When betting in Deuces, Jacks and the Man with the Ax, it is important to remember that all 2 cards and Jack cards are wild and the King of Diamonds is wild also. This means that you can substitute any card value that you want in place of the actual card. Deuces, Jacks and the Man with the Ax is an exciting game because there are so many wild cards. You will be able to easily create great poker hands during the game.

Deuces, Jacks and the Man with the Ax continues just like 5 Card Draw. After the first round of betting, players have the option of exchanging up to three of their cards for new ones. You have the option of trading in four of your cards if you have an Ace. However, you will have to show everyone that you have an Ace if you do this. It is important to remember that you do not have to exchange any of your cards. You can choose to stand pat and keep all of the cards that you were dealt. Another round of betting occurs after the players that wanted to exchange their cards did so.

All players reveal their cards after the final round of betting. The player with the best hand wins the entire pot in Deuces, Jacks and the Man with the Ax. The game uses the same hand rankings as traditional poker. A royal flush, straight flush and four of a kind are the three best hands in Deuces, Jacks and the Man with the Ax.
