Isildur1 wins Superstar Showdown vs. Terken89

While the World Series of Poker and the Fourth of July holiday weekend dominated the headlines in the United States, PokerStars decided to throw together another Superstar Showdown match with little fanfare, pitting their resident Team PokerStars Pro, Victor “Isildur1” Blom, up against the mostly unknown Norwegian high stakes regular, Terje “Terken89″ Augdal.

With most possible competitors for Blom in Las Vegas for the WSOP, Augdal might have been a little over his head in such a high stakes affair, considering he was felted by Isildur1. With the match scheduled for a full 2,500, Augdal lost his entire $150,000 bankroll in 1,500 hands, putting him in some very dubious company with Daniel Negreanu and Rui Cao as the only player to be felted in the Superstar Showdown series.

With the win Isildur1 has now run his record to an extremely impressive 9 -1, with wins over Negreanu, Cao, Eugene Katchalov, Tony G, Daniel Cates, Scott Palmer, two online qualifiers, and now Augdal. Rumors and hints dropped on the PokerStars blog point toward a Superstar Showdown match between Isildur1 and recent Triple Crown winner Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspellier in the near future, a matchup every poker fan would like to see! Obviously the match would have to wait until after the World Series of Poker, and if ElkY makes a deep run in the Main Event that could mean at least a couple of weeks before he could square off against his fellow Team PokerStars Pro.
