Welcome to a new weekly feature that you’ll see here each Friday. With so many online poker opportunities on the various websites, it can be overwhelming to make decisions about where to spend your weekend hours and bankroll. The purpose of our satellite summary is to highlight some of the biggest satellite promotions on the net and provide some options.

Want to be on TV in the UK? Full Tilt Poker is your place. Want to win seats to events in exotic locations like Peru or Chile, Kiev or Prague? PokerStars has the tickets.

Though there’s simply no room to list every satellite here, we plan to highlight some of the fun ones each week. And for those without online poker accounts, click on the links below for some top-notch sign-up specials and bonuses.

Full Tilt Poker:

Here is your access to World Poker Tour events around the world. Currently, FTP is offering satellites to the WPT Vienna event, which is scheduled for March 25 – 29 in Austria. There isn’t much time left, but seats will be won this weekend; why not take one of them? The buy-in in Vienna of €3,200 + €300 is a bit prohibitive for most, but satellites on FTP start at $10 + $1 and jump up to $71 + $4. There is also a direct qualifier on Sunday for $300 + $22.

The Poker Lounge is a rather new TV show broadcasted in the UK, and it allows one online qualifier to sit down with some of the biggest FTP Pros in the biz and play for a winner-take-all prize of $120K. If you’re one of the people who repeatedly watch Tom Dwan or Patrik Antonius and believe you play better than them, this is your chance to prove it … in front of an audience … for cash! The Poker Lounge prize packages are valued at $22K, including the trip to England and the buy-in for the event. There are satellites running this weekend starting at $10 + $1, along with one qualifier on Sunday for $600 + $40.

The other big deal going on these days is MiniFTOPS XIX. The series is already underway, but there are satellites for each upcoming event. This weekend features chances to get into Event #17 ($55 PLO-8) for $10 + $1, Event #19 ($1060 NLHE HU) for $100 + $9, Event #21 ($33 2-7 TD) for $5 + $.50, Event #22 ($13 NLHE KO Multi) for $.50 + $.10, Event #24 ($33 NLHE Multi) for 250 Full Tilt Points, and Event #40 ($216 NLHE 6-Max 2-day) for $1.25 + $.15. MiniFTOPS runs through March 20, but this would be an ideal weekend to get in on some of the lower buy-in tournaments for pennies on the dollar.

And don’t forget that there are satellites to the Sunday majors all weekend, with chances for cheap seats in events like the Sunday Mulligan, Sunday Brawl, and the $750K Guarantee.

PokerStars:

There are almost too many satellites running on PokerStars for various tours to list here, but that’s a good thing, right? A quick scan of the weekend prospects found chances to win seats in the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) at Mohegan Sun in April; Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) at Perth in March and Sydney in April; Greek Poker Cup near Athens in March; European Poker Tour (EPT) in Austria in March, Berlin in April, and the Grand Final at Madrid in May; Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) in Chile in March and Peru in April; the finals of the Italian Poker Tour (IPT) at Nova Gorica in March; Russian Poker Tour (RPT) at Kiev in March; Belgian Poker Series (BPS) at Namur in April; and the Eureka! Poker Tour at Prague in March. Whew! Take a breath, pick your destination of choice, and go for any of the satellites connected with that event.

Want to make a run at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure? In 2012?! Yes, the tournament has grown so much through the years that it warrants satellites throughout the year. All you have to know is that you’d like to spend next January in the Bahamas trying to win millions of dollars, and it’s worth the time to try to win that seat into the Main Event now. Look for 2012 PCA satellites whenever you’re ready; they’re waiting for you.

And finally, there are big Sunday majors tournaments with qualifiers all weekend, such as the Sunday Warm-Up, 1/4 Million, and the Sunday Million.

We will be highlighting more events and more online poker sites in the coming weeks, but if you have any special requests, please leave them in the comments section and we’ll make sure to include them next week.
