Absolute Poker is one of the few premier online poker services that offer a Mac compatible software package. Absolute Poker still offers its instant play software for Mac users but has now added a Mac specific poker client so Mac users can download, install and access Absolute Poker on their desktop.

Absolute Poker Mac System Requirements

Absolute Poker's Mac software package is very light on computer resources, so practically every Mac poker player should be able to successfully run the poker client. System requirements include:

Mac OS X 10.4 or higher

128 MB of RAM

50 MB of hard drive space

800x600 minimum screen resolution

56k or better Internet connection

Differences Between Absolute Poker's Mac and Windows Versions

While Absolute Poker does provide Mac poker players with their own compatible and downloadable software program, it does not include all of the game play features that are readily available on the standard Windows poker client package. Mac users will not be able to play any Omaha, 7 Card Stud or mixed game tournaments and won't have access to multiplayer real money Blackjack tables. Various game play features are also omitted including hot key options, cascading tables, multiple table views, instant hand replay and 20-table gaming.

The reduced features and lack of alternative poker game tournaments clearly set the Mac software package apart from the standard Windows version. However, Absolute Poker's Mac software still gives you complete access to all Texas Hold'em, Omaha, 7 Card Stud and Razz real money ring games. You'll also gain access to all of the Texas Hold'em tournaments from the $50 freerolls to the $200,000 Sunday guaranteed events. Above all, the fact that you can play real money ring games and tournaments on Mac compatible software means that it has been thoroughly tested by Absolute Poker to run as well as the Windows version.
